Forgot to add:
Be sure to pack the new speaker boxes with fiberfill before you mount the mid-subs.
: I installed 6.5' mid sub free-air units. Remember, this speaker only receives the low signal, so 2 or 3-way speakers are a waste of money. No, it wasn't hard. Had to seal up the compartment: bolted a 3/8" piece of plywood to the "hole" in the kick (from the inside), caulked and filles as best I could. The plywood had already been cut for the speakers, and I used quick nuts to facilitate the install. To increase the rigidity of the speaker-plywood-sheetmetal kick, I bolted some steel strapping top and bottom to the sheetmetal, with one speaker bolt (on each side) also mounting to the strapping.
: Then you get out your Drimmel or small hand saw and open up the fake speaker slots in the plastic kick panels, extending the factory slots. Looks and sounds great when finished.
: Best of luck!

: : Has anyone put a 6 1/2" speaker behind the kickpanel in replace of the 5 1/4"? How difficult? What alterations?
: : Btw, how do you remove the driver side kickpanel?
: : Thanks to all in advance.
