Inspection light on = corrosion check??
What do you mean?I do my own oil service whenever the oil service LED lights up and I reset the LEDs by shorting pins 9 & 17 for 5 secs.To reset the Inspection lights, same pin number but for a duration of 11 secs.

good luck

: Since I bought my '91 535a the "inspection" light has been illuminated on start up. I know this refers to BMW's annual corrosion check but don't feel like visiting the dealer for such a small item. The standard service light resetting tool doesn't affect this display but I know it works by grounding certain pins within the service diagnostic port under the hood. Does anyone know if grounding another of the pins turns the offending light out? If so which one? Thanks in advance.
