Just thought I'd share my experience with the board.
For months (2 to be exact)I was haunted by this cyclic rumbling sound coming from the rear which seem to originate from the prop shaft/half shaft/diff whenever I travel at a speed in excess of 140 km/h but can't seem to pinpoint exactly where.Have checked and isnpected the mechanicals down there (i'm a diy mech)but can't seem to fault anything. The cycle is like 5 secs on 10 secs off.Drove my nuts.Today,I decided it was time for all the tires to be balanced.During the process, the mech found the right rear tire to have bulged a bit.Replaced both the rear tires and guess what...TOTAL Rumble elimination.Just goes to show that tires can mislead us into thinking some faults lies not where we thought it is.
By the way,the tires were Michelins MXV 3.
