Sorry about the previous zigged when I should have zagged. Anyway, my 95 525i has a similar cold start problem. I've entertained all suggestions and came to a couple of new conclusions. It could be an Idle Air Control problem, but doubtful. Worst case it could be a faulty coolant temperature sensor. If this sensor is bad, the computer will not set the fuel mixture rich enough to counter the cold start. Just an idea.

: : My '92 535i seems to have some hesitation while accelerating when cold, with about 1/3 to 1/2 pedal. It seems to go, level off, go faster, level off, etc., very quickly but noticeable. After it warms up, I can't feel it. Any ideas?
