Humming or buzzing?Sound when car moving or stationary? If stationary, then it is the fuel pump.It is normal for the pump to buzz a bit but not to the extent that it could be heard while sitting in the drivers' seat.If you go to the filler cap and concentrate, you would be able to hear it.Mine buzzed extra loud intermittently for 1 whole month but the mech said it sometimes do that and does not warrant a replacement.Buzzing's gone now for 3 weeks.Hope it stays that way.

: Got a humming coming from the rear of the wagon. My first guess is it's the fuel pump. Just noticed it a couple of weeks ago, and not sure if it's been there all along. Could this be the first signs of the fuel pump going out, or is it normal? Should I go ahead and just replace it? TIA
