As said before, try to find out what the service history is about the car and if it had been regularly taken care of by the local BMW dealer or independent. There are websites that will tell you what to look for in the used BMW market but I can't remember where they are now. (SENIOR MOMENT) :^) Maybe someone can recall the website and post you in the right direction. If you can work on your e-28 then you will have no problem working on the e-34.
