: Recently had head gasket replaced. Ever since, gas mileage has dropped from an average of 20 mpg (city and highway combined) to 14-15 mpg. Why is this and how can I fix? Thanks very much. Happy Holidays to all!! DJD in KY.

On December 20th, you posted that you thought that the repair to the headgasket was not suceessful, and that maybe the head was cracked. Are you now convinced it is ok? If it is cracked, the car will not run properly (duh) and the mileage will suffer.
