I have a '95 525iT (all were automatic) into which i put the jim c chip. highly recommend it. you'll need high octane fuel but that's the only downside. better punch off the line, quicker lane changes/ highway passes, and flat to improved economy. plus its only $200. it's impossible to think of a reason why not to get it. good luck
