This is a problem with the clutch friction material. When asbestos was removed from the clutch friction material the replacement material doesn't take to heat well. You may need a clutch but, the new clutch will probibly do the same thing under the same conditions. The best solution is to shift into neutral when stopped and allow the momentary cooling to help the friction material. My clutch went 102,000 miles.
