: I've got a 95 540i and after watching this post and checking out the other websites, I'm just curious about the replaced block issue. How many of you have had the V-8 block replaced and is there anyone out there who hasn't? How many miles did the original last? Anybody from Minnesota had it replaced? It seems like where you live makes a difference. Thanks in advance for the reponses.

My 1994 540iA is Sharked with H&R, Bilstein, RD, and K&N. It has 157,000 miles on the clock and has passed the leakdown test done at my request (out of curiosity). I use only AMOCO Gold Premium gas and usually drive 200 miles at a time at highway speeds in Iowa and southern Minnesota. The oxygen sensors and cramkshaft position sensor have been replaced recently for general principals, and all other routine maintenance has been done according to schedule. Next comes a 3:64 differential from a 1993 750i and euro Nurnburgring M5 front brakes. Yeehaw!
