: Ron,
: When I first got the car,the temp was reading at approx the 1/4 mark, which to me,is running a wee bit to cool.Removed the thermostat and found that it was fitted with the 71'C range unit.
: Bought an 80'C thermostat and fitted it.Now the gauge reads just a tad below the mid mark, which leaves me very pleased that I had it changed.
: Did an oil change a month back and used Mobil 1 and immediately after, the temp reads a needle width below the mid mark during cruise and a tad below mid mark at idle and during traffic.I am now a Mobil 1 believer.

thanks moots, guess i'll look for the old t-stat in the trash can and see what temp it was--then try bleeding it AGAIN, good point about the oil change, i'm overdue ! Did you run into any leaks using Mobil 1? I've heard it's great stuff if used in the engine from the start, but switching over after 100k can lead to gasket leaks--just a myth?
