FYI - My 525i M50tuB25 with stock (80c) runs a needle width under the middle mark and, in the winter, takes around 15 minutes drive to get up to normal. I believe you will find that lower units are for competition.

As far as Mobil1 goes. I have used it for many years. Mobil1 has better detergent action than dino and, yes, people with seals that were worn and not leaking due to being "sludged up" experienced leakage once the sludge was dispersed by the detergent action of Mobil1. If you have a preventative maintenance regimen on your car, or good records demonstrating same, the likelihood is that you should not experience any problems. YMMV!!
