Last night I cleaned the crankshaft position sensor since I discovered it was covered in oil and motor gunk. After cleaning it the car runs great(as it did before) but the Check Engine light came on the next day, displaying the '1222' code for rich/lean mixture at O2 sensor. THe light has not come on once since last year when the O2 was bad and was replaced by a new Bosch unit. Could the DME be used to the (incorrect) reading of the crank sensor and now that it's clean be confused? I did undo the battery for 5 mins. to reset the DME but the CE light came on again. THe gap on the Crank Sensor seems to be within spec. Any ideas??? THanks.
