Firstly, I am a Mobil1 man through and through!
I think oil choice is kind of like beer! You would drink most anything (almost anything!) in a pinch but given the choice...etc. etc.

Multi-vis oils with less "distance between the numbers" require less viscosity modifiers.
15w50 gives a good ambient temp spread
(approx -32F to 120F) with a diff. of only 35. 5w50 Syntec has more modifiers due to the 45 diff.

Mobil1 has tested out to be about the best of the
"regular" synthetic oils.
