In an "alarm system" emergency, you can access your car by using the passenger side door and (from memory so excuse me!) you stick your key in, move the key anticlockwise and concurrently lift the door latch. You can then insert the key into the ignition and it will restore you back to normal. The instructions should be in your owners manual, so check them out.
