: Should work fine. My son used it in his Volvo more than 200,000 and I used it in my 75 245 Volvo 678,000 until 21 year ago. I switched him to Mobil 1 15W50. I switched my 89 525ia to Mobile 1 also. I used Castrol products from the late 60's to about 2 years ago. After reading several articles and on the advice of a friend, I switched to full synthetics in all fluids in all cars. They all seem to run better, smoother, and cleaner. I had to have 2 head gaskets replaced on my safari van and the mechanic commented on how clean the engine was inside (with very little wear). He was very impressed and began using Mobile 1 products also. Frequent oil changes with any high grade lubricant should produce equally good results. I change oil and filter in all vehicles every 3000 miles rain or shine. That actually had more to do with the shape of the engine than Mobile 1 and Castrol Full Synthetic had been used most of the cars miles. Castrol is a fine lubricant with a respected reputation. I think quite a few of us here use Mobil 1 products.
There are many discussions concerning synthetic vs petrolium vs synthetic/petrolium blends. In the end I think it's more important to change fluids and filters often (and synthetic is manufactured, so it is replaceable)which makes synthetics more disrable. Synthetics seem to be more stable and able to cope wth the extremes of today's engines.
You have a great car, treat it right.
