Not sure but I think this is covered by a BMW factory campaign. Went to the dealer to buy some touch up paint for my '92 535i. They had to look up my VIN number to find out which of the 3 alpine whites I had. When the parts guy looked up my VIN it noted I had 3 outstanding service bulletins:

1. Brake switch
2. Cooling system over pressure fix (probably explains the cracked coolant resorvoir)
3. something with the steering (coupler?).

Fixed for free last Wednesday by Weathorford BMW. Although the nail polish sized paint was $11.00. The parts guy also printed out the original factory options list for my car. Found out I have a limited slip dif. That was a nice surprise!

: I have a faulty break light switch on the break pedal, How do I remove the panel above the brake pedal without cracking the panel itself? Do I have to remove the bottom half of the dashboard also?
