: I have never read so much about problems concerning one engine + other problems. From all the letters and stories on this page there can be no other conclusion. Are all newer Bimmers like this ? It seems that the engines are replaced regulary. I was concidering an upgrade but I think I will stick to my 535i-92. I have sofar had no problems whatsoever. It has 65k miles on the meter. Or ?
I've throughly enjoyed my 530i over the six years and 92k miles I've owned it. It has performed brilliantly, never leaving me stranded, never needing a tow, never missing a beat. Yes, as I write this it's at the dealer getting the new block installed - UNDER WARRANTY! - not because it showed any symptoms, but because I had the leakdown test done with a week to go under warranty and it failed. YIPPEEEE! So while I'm at it, I'm having the clutch, guibo, and PCV valve done too, since the incremental cost to me will simply be parts plus another hour's labor. SUCH A DEAL - for a few hundred bucks I'll have made the drivetrain bulletproof for its second 100k miles... Now what's a lemon? Where do I begin - maybe the SAAB 9000 I had before this car? Well, this site doesn't have room to list all the problems I had with that car, but suffice it to say, I love my 530i and will buy another BMW, but not for a few more years, as this one is just starting to feel broken in!!! So if you have a similar feeling with your 535i - stick with it and enjoy! These are great cars!!!!
