: : I noticed my pass side wiper arm is starting to rub on the back lip of the hood. Snipped these from the archives. My hood seems aligned properly, and i'm not crazy about moving the wiper arm up a few splines, but curious if anyone has been successful in getting a new lower-profile wiper arm from your dealer. I called my local one, and they're playing (or really are) dumb on any campaign /tech bulletins issued for it. Thx ron 89 525i

: : from the archives:
: : *There was a campaign on this arm. BMW has a replacement arm that is not as high and this fixes the problem.

: : *the TSB recommends that the hood be adjusted forward and up.

: : *move the wiper arm up a few splines.

: Ron, I had the same problem on the '92 535i that I just got. I ended up adjusting the hood up, which seemed to match the fenders better. The wiper body had already worn a notch in it & as well as the bottom side of the hood. I was not aware of a fix campaign either.

How do you adjust the hood ? I didn't see anything near the hinges/latches that looked adjustable under there. Thx !
