: I can't remember if that (the towing hook) is also in the access to the driving lights. By the way I have an 89 5251a and installed the air cleaner replacement for the standard air box (The filter charger), which is as you know is on the cool side of the car. It sounds great, not sure if I have more power but it sure sounds sweet!
Will that cone fit inside the standard 535 airbox if a suitable salvage box is acquired and appropriately modified? Could be something to think about.
Ther was a fairly long article concerning your installation that I ran across on the web a while back while researching K&N filters. I just can't remember where it was. All the work and testing had been done. I believe that it was performed by DINAN. The 'just' of the article was that hot air, regardless of the quantity, is only more hot air and in fact does begin to rob horsepower (in a street application) There is a cool setup in the Feb 2000 European Car mag, page 76 (Solo 2 specialist). This was installed on a purely racing 3 series. The cone was mounted remotely behind the nostrils and a long clear plastic (flexible) ducting was routed back to the intake. How about mounting the cone on the cool side of the car and running insulated flexible duct in front of the radiator and around to the
business end of the 535. Just thinking out loud.
