when the needle is just out of the blue range, or when the needle is at normal driving temperature?

If its the former, then mine takes about five minutes. If it's the latter, then it takes longer. I usually drive off after the needle is just out of the blue range, and about 2km after that, the temp reaches normal driving temp.
If I drive off at cold start, the gear interchanges seem odd, which I think is normal to compensate for the cold temp.

: Just wondering, mine takes like 10 minutes, my mom's 735i is warm within 5 minutes usually, and stays there. Is this normal, or do I have something wrong? Thanks.
