VANOS was added to the 525i in '93, when the engine became the M50TU ("technical update"). Horsepower rating remained the same, 189.

If you want a few more ponies in a 525i, I've got an Alpine White Korman turbocharged '93 525i five speed that you might be interested in. M5 wheels, H&R springs, Bilstein Sport shocks, Dinan antiroll bars, short shifter, VDO gauges, lotsa new parts. I'm the original owner, car needs nothing, like new at approximately 111,000 miles.
