If you slowly press the clutch pedal and you start hearing/feeling grinding noise, it probably is the throwout bearing.

Mine made noise for about 1 week before I called the mechanic and made an appointment for a week later. At the end of that 2 weeks, the noise was really bad and did not sound good at all.

When my mechanic seperated the tranny from the engine, he said all the ball bearings came flying out and bounced all over his shop. :)

New clutch kit and transmission seals were put in. He said the clutch was only about 2/3rds worn down (at 75k miles.)

: Recently, I have noticed a clattering noise when driving, but today, it got really bad. It gets louder as I rev the engine, but when I have the clutch down while revving it makes no noise. What should I do? Should I drive it home or get it towed??? Does it need to be fixed???
