$800 seems way too much for the black trim on a M5. I paid around $300 at the dealer for the 8 pieces for my 530i Touring where the sedan has only 6 pieces. The pieces that fit on the bottom of the windows are $30 each. Maybe he also bought the rubber inserts that keep the trim in place, but these can be reused from the chrome trim you take of. These inserts are definetely not costing $500. You need to buy some extra clips for the trim pieces that run from the A-pillar to the C-pillar along the roof line; they all break when you remove the chrome trim. The correct price for trim pieces and inserts should surely be less than $500, but check your dealer to verify.
