I had to park my 89 535i 5 spd in long term parking at the Atlanta airport. Unon my return (2 days) I realized that I had left my lights on and the battery had died. I also discovered that the while the trunk would open the doors would not. I put the key in the lock - turned left, turned right - nothing. Luckily they have a coulpe of guys in a van that drive around and help the lame like me :-). They mangaged to get the door open by holding the passanger side door handle up, turning the key to the right and pressing down on top of the lock - key hole (internally) with a slim jim. Whew! I need to know if there is any way to get this cars doors open if and when the battey (under seat) dies on me again.
