I recently found a set of ACSchnitzer wheels for my 89 535i that were used and had them reconditioned by the Wheel Collision center. A few things to look for: The Tire Rack wheels listed often require a spacer ring to match the E34 hub bore, which is about 2.860 inches. A lot of people use these rings, but I chose not to, and that limited my options. Make a point of asking about this. If you want to save money, try the wheel repair companies advertised in the Roundel. Try www.bmwwheels.com to examine their selection and compare prices. If you can go with a 16 inch ( which I am beginning
to think makes more sense with road conditions here in New York) they have some used wheels listed. That way you have a good chance of getting the right hub bore and offset. Good Luck!
: Currently I received a nice surprise when tire shopping for new rubber for my 195TR415 wheels that have the Michelin 240/45ZR415 TRX tires. I found out
: that my only tire option is the exact same tires because no body else seems to carry any tires that will fit these rims. The other nice surprise was that these tires are hard to find because supposively Michelin is not going to offer them any more.
: It looks like I'm going to have to buy new wheels all around unless someone has a suggestion.
: Two suggested sizes are the following:
: 16x7 +20MM 225/60 16
: 17x17.5 +20MM 235/45 17
: So far I'm leaning towards the second option of 17x17.5 wheels. I would appreciate any feedback on rim and tire sizes! Also if anyone has any suggestions on rims that I can put on my car.
