: : I have a 6'' crease in my door (don't ask). In the archives one person mentioned that paintless dent removal works well, but not necessarily on creases. These shops say they can remove just about anything. Any opinions in general about this topic, and specifically any recommendations on shops in the N. VA. (Chantilly, Sterling) area would be much appreciated.
PDR works well if the dent or crease is out in the open. This means that there are no braces welded in behind the dent. Or, a double wall behind the dent. Your main concern should be the SKILL of the person working on your car. Ask to see some of their work before you commit to letting them work on your car. A good PDR tech will be able at least make the dent look better if they are unable to remove it fully. All cars are different and so are all dents. If your crease has folded or stretched the metal there is only so much that can be done. If the paint has been broken or is flaked off your best bet is a conventional repair.
