The thicker MTL will greatly reduce those noises and I have read several places that it won't hurt anything.

: Well, it turns out that noise I've been experiencing has been just gear rattle. Apparantly a normal thing, just something a 135k car does. Switching from 90 wt oil to synthetic just made the sound more apparant, that's also why it gets worse after driving, the oil warms up and thins out. So, anyone switching to Redline ATF, just beware, this may happen, not necessarily a bad thing.
