I was just giving my beloved Bimmer a wash and guess what,I just only today realised that the headlights on my car is of the ellipsoid type AND has the inverted eyebrow thingy below the lights.Still do not know it's purpose in life tho.

: Hey Tim,
: Ellipsoidal lights are the type that you and I have. You know the projector type lights where at the center of the headlight assembly there is something like a magnifying lens embedded in the center of it!
: I know what you mean by the inverted eyebrow on some of the lights. In KL,those type of lights are fitted to '89 - 92 E30 (3 series).Don't know the purpose tho and I don't think they perform any better.(My friend owns that model)

: moots '90 520i ellipsoidal but not bright e'nuff

: What's the difference? Are the Euro's the ones that look like they have an upside down eyebrow on them (black curved thing underneath the bulb)? What does that do? Are they better? Just curious... anyone know what I'm talking about?

: : '90 535i 5-speed, ellipsoidal lights, I think...
