Careful! If you have a five speed auto without a dipstick, you must get a dealer (or someone who has full diagnostic facilites) to fill the gearbox. There is a pressure reading to be obtained at a certain fluid temperature and engine revs. Without you'll either underfill - no drive - or overfill and never change up.
Diff no problem - make sure the car is level AND SAFELY SUPPORTED.
My independent engineer (ex BMW) charges me £64 (UK - $100?) for box service - drain, filter change and refill.
