I am going from memory, but I am pretty sure you will find in the owner's manual a suggestion to put the car in neutral when stopped for sustained periods. I took this to mean for red lights etc. Jim

: I've got an 89 535i (had it a couple of weeks). With the transmission (auto) in the 'Drive' position, it seems like the car pulls forward pretty hard without gas applied. In other words, with foot on brake, car in Drive, lift brake pedal and car picks up speed quite easily. Is this common in these cars? Is it adjustable? Any ideas? Car has 102,000 miles on it.
