This is the first comment I've seen on the result of this recall.
The recall letter said something to the effect that performance would not be adversely affected. I would suggest documenting the gas mileage difference, call the dealer and ask them to correct it. If they can't or won't fix it, write a letter to the local BMW technical rep.

I'm lucky that I just got my smog and reg without needing the recall but in a year I will have to have it. I would not stand for any compromise in performance that we have already paid for. It's their engineering mistake.
