This comes up quite a bit, do some searches and you'll turn up a lot of info. Unless you've found a really good deal, it might be worth it to find a '91-'95 525 instead since they have the newer M50 motor, which is more powerful (189hp vs 168hp), more reliable, require less maintenance etc.

'93 525i (82k & tight as a drum, but with M50 motor)
