: I'm interested in purchasing a 1994 530i for $13,200. It has 106,000 miles and is described as being in "excellent" condition" with no mechanical problems or leaks, "never painted, never in an accident." The pictures show a well kept interior, exterior and engine compartment. It is a 5-speed with a 6-CD changer with "partial service history."
: Any comments on this vehicle?
: Are there any things I should look out for in regards too this year make and model?
: I searched the archives and the only thing I could find were comments regarding the "leakdown test."
: I also performed a Carfax "Lemon" check and came up with no adverse comments.
: Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
: BE SURE TO GO TO THE www.530i.org web site. There is a problem with the engine with reaction to sulfur in the gas. At that web site you will get all the info you need. There is also a page which will tell you where to look on the engine block to see if it has been replaced with the new alusil block. Read and be educated. I just bought a 530i 3 weeks ago and wish I had known about this site. My car is great, but I may have chosen another model due to the engine problem. BMW does warranty the engine for 6 years or 100,000 miles even for subsequent owners.
