I have been considering developing a supercharger kit for the E34 535i. I'm typically more involved with turbocharged engine development, but my take on driving the E34 (as an owner) is that a twisted-roots or screw supercharger would be a better mate than a turbo. I think an inexpensive low-boost (5-7psi) non-intercooled system might be best, since these cars are coming down in value and nobody wants to get too upside-down on what they have invested in a car. What are some other opinions? Would a 100-125hp kit be attractive in the $3,000-$3,500 range? Is there a market? Does anybody know how many M30 equipped E34's were made?
: There are not many options. There are the Mossouelman kits sold at BMP and Korman. These kits are low pressure(6-7psi) and rough around the edges. Will require lots of custom install work for good clean installation. Other than that, unless you get a car with as Alpina, Dinan, Cartech system already installed, slim pickens. Dinan is out of the street legal turbo business. I know, I go the last one.
: No problem with the engine, the M30 engines are real strong.
: The Mossouelman kit is ~$6k for parts.
: : Is there a Super or Turbo Charger kit for a 90 535iA? If there is, where can I get more info on it, like the gain and the price. Would it damage the cars engine and is it work it?
