The asking price was only $14,500. When I first saw the ad, I was sure that it was either a typo or that the car was totally trashed. It basically turns out that the seller didn't know what price it could have brought. The car is immaculate, very well maintained (all dealer-service records, including 3 Inspection II's), and fully-optioned (OBC, heated seats, phone, built-in radar, cargo area liner, sheepskins).

I had my mechanic inspect the car, and write up a nice high estimate of work that the car would need in the next 6-12 months. With that in hand, I was able to get the seller down to $13,900.

In short, I looked long and hard, and got a bit lucky.

: Drew,

: That is an incredible price! Did it have a salvage title or did you have something on the seller?
