My 1995 530i has 53K miles and runs very well to this day, BUT I would really like to add a Jim C. chip and have been told NOT to chip the motor until I know whether or not the motor passes the leakdown test or requires replacement. I have browsed the www.530 website, but would like feedback from fellow E34 V8 owners on the following issues:
1) any one had the leakdown test in Orange County, CA and if so how was the outcome and at dealership?
2) if you have had your short block replaced, what exactly did you say to have them complete the test and or replace the short block.
