I just bought a lovely 1989 535i (UK spec), it has 17" Momo 5 spoke wheels with 255 40 ZR17 tires on the rear, 235 40 ZR17 on front. I live in the UK in an area with lots of narrow, windey, and somewhat bumpy roads. I am finding that although the tires are really grippy, the front wheels feel like they have a mind of their own when traversing these hilly bumpy roads. The only way I can describe this is the front wheels go to the left or right when going over bumpy parts or over sharp hills. It is somewhat unnerving to feel like you are not always in control of your car. Are these tires too wide or too much of a low profile? Would I be better off with the standard 15 inchers on these roads.....or is something wrong with the suspension? HELP! Please Advise.
