: I have noticed,on my '92 535i 5speed, that some times when I let my foot of the throttle, I get a distinctive 'jerk' from the drive train or engine. It doesn't do it all the time. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is there something I can adjust to stop it?

Check your transmission mounts. My wife's 325 Auto had the symptoms you describe and her mounts were crushed down and broken. I replaced them and all is well. Also, the are only like $15 each at the dealer. I don't know about the labor on the E34 since I have not done mine yet, but it can't be too much.
