HELP!! High RPM problems (archive)

Please Help! I have a 1992 525i 5speed.
Having a problem with high RPMs. When I'm driving and switching gears, I put the car in neutral the RPM's stays at what ever the last RPM's was,
until I push the clutch in. Then it drops to normal.
