I've been watching your post for an answer because I too would like to know how to do that. Are you sure it is the bulb and not the contacts, because my contacts seem to be getting worse and my gear indicator lights come on sporadically. It is likely all the coffee, coke, moisture etc that has been spilled in there over the years. I was thinking about spraying some electrical cleaner in there. Good luck.
