: I was in the city today, and my '91 525ia (w/M50) died on me, while I was driving it.
: All of a sudden, all the instrument panel lights lit up, the throttle was dead, as the engine had turned off.
: I tried to restart the car, occasionally it would restart, but the idle was very rough and then it would die again. I tried to restart the car until the battery grew weak.
: Also, while trying to restart it, I saw "Oil Pressure Sensor--See Owners Manual" light up on the instrument panel text display. I checked the oil level and it seemed fine, with clean oil.
: I had it flatbed-towed to my mechanic, and he will try to get it running again. I suspect a clogged fuel filter to be the culprit, but don't know enough about these cars.
: Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

I would check cjeck your crank shaft sensor. Some times they vibrate loose and cause the problems you are describing. It's located on the front of the engine and looks like a silve lipstick case.
