Help me out here guys! I had an emissions check done on my '90 520i. The O2- and HC-values checked out OK, but the CO-value was about 5,5%. That's way too high, only a couple of months ago it was 2,6%. In between the two measurements I had some minor jobs done at the local BMW shop. They also checked the mixture and claimed that it was too lean, so it was adjusted richer. I'm quite certain that they overdid it. I've had problems with the idle dropping too low when e.g. parking and the RPM occasionally fluctuates when starting the cold engine in the morning. It's also sometimes hard to start when warm. I've replaced all the fuses and cleaned the relays and components' connectors and changed the spark plugs. I also replaced the TPS and cleaned the ICV. I don't get any fault codes flashing with the pedal stomp test. Should I just adjust the mixture? How do I know when it's right? I'm really getting annoyed here! Any advice GREATLY appreciated!
