how can I find the service/recall history ... (archive)

Hello,

I bought a '94 530 w/o records from a bank. The previous owner is "not available". The block has the alusil part number, but I have no idea when it was changed. The dealer only has a record of 2 minor services and states that BMW purges the records if a car has not been to a dealer in the past 4 years.
1. - How can I get te service hostory on this car?
2. - What all did BMW replace when they replaced the blocks?
