: : I noticed recently that I have to top off my coolant about every six months, and I also began to notice a small oil puddle developing in my garage. I would like to ask our knowledgeable fellow enthusiast whether these are normal ageing nuisance for a 1995 525I or are they some cause for worry. Mel. Thanks in advance for any comments or advice.
: Have you had your filler cap replaced by BMW? They had a (FREE) recall last year because of caps holding in too much pressure. The new cap will of course have a new rubber seal. My wife's car would lose a tiny bit of coolant every week until I replaced the cap. It would evaporate and so I never knew where it was leaking from. Hope that's it, if not then check the water pump/seal.

I have been experiencing the same thing.
I have the updated cap along with anew radiator and water pump with 30K miles on them. No fluids on the garage floor. I just keep monitoring it and top it off every 3K miles I add a 1 quart of coolant.
