I agree. It should start quickly with no gas pedal at all. It starts pretty much immediately once you step on the accelerator. I like the idea of cleaning the air idle valve. What about fuel pump ?? A co-worker with a 740il suggested that it might be the pump, you can hear it over the exhaust when standing behind the car 5 feet away. Just a slight buzzing / hum. I'll probably take it in if the air idle valve doesn't do the trick. I'm new to this car (but experienced home repair person) where is this valve on the M20 setup ?? My manual hasn't arrived yet.
