I haven't checked the difference in premiums in a number of years, but I switched to US$50 Deductable comprehensive a few years ago for very little premium increase. 2 months ago, I payed $50 for a windscreen for the bimmer and just last week payed $50 for a windscreen and $1400 dollars of sand damage on my Wife's Grand Cherokee that occurred on a trip through NM AZ and CA deserts.
About 5 years ago some creten keyed the hool of teh car and that cost $50 for the repaint.
: Just got my windshield smashed by a bolt kicked up by a car in front of me on 880 south near fremont. I always thought getting your windshield smashed by road debris was rare. This will be my THIRD windshield in 6 months. The last one was replaced last month. Add a windshield repair that I did a couple of months ago to that and I have spent a fortune on windshields. Just venting.
