I have to say, BMW sure has a problem. I've heard so many people with this problem and its a costly one to fix. I bought my bimmer a few months ago and it did the same thing. I took it to National Tire and Battery for a suspension estimate and they pointed out the struts leaking and the lower control arm having too much play. Estimate from them to fix it was about $800. I bought the lower control arms from All BMW Parts in El Paso Texas. They have the cheapest prices on almost everthing. Ordered the struts and got them installed. Of course, you need to get the alignment done after toying with the suspension system. So, you should get it inspected, be prepared to spend some $$$$. If you buy the parts yourself, it can be done easily and quickly. I saved about $500 total!
