: I need to replace the muffler and I want one that sounds sweet and packs power but not rediculouslt expensive. Thanks to anyone who could help.

A Stebro has gotten very good comments from users and there not overly expensive $500. I am looking in to fabricating one myself though.
I received this post from a fellow Bimmer owner, He states:
I ended up getting the Metric Mechanic exhaust,,,, I do not suggest you get
it. I found it cheeply made and did not deliver the performance.. I ended up
building my own.. i purchased a 5 liter cat and a high flow muffler from a
local speed shop. I had it bent and installed locally. It work 100% better
than the metric unit I returned. My total cost for building my own was $
380.00. 1/3 the cost of the Metric unit and 1/4 that of a BB system.

Cat 5 liter $ 129.00
hi flow stainless muffler 130
Pipe and bending 3" 100
Chrome exhaust tip 30
