: My '90 535i with 50K on it is also in for service and I was informed that my guibo needs to be replaced as well. Price quoted was $230 installed. This is a BMW dealer. Does this sound reasonable. I hope so as I have authorized the work. Also had them check my thrust arm busings but they said they were OK.
: i>: '94 530 in for Inspection 1. I know I have some oil leaks (power steering). Was told that it was the power steering pump, valve covers (sort of suspected this), and rear main seal (did not expect this)... Getting the engine checked on this (c'mon little nikasil block - FAIL!)
: : Anyway - he also told me that the guibo needs to be replaced. My question is what in the hell is a guibo (could it be the flex disk?) and where is it located? Is it difficult to replace by myself?
: : Thanks!
$230 at the stealer for a guibo is a great price. that is the actual price from an independant repair shop. for once the stealer did not gouge you!!!
